AuraGlass 5.0 release notes

#What 5.0.2 ships

AuraGlass 5.0.2 rebuilds the public contract around canonical names and focused entries. The root entry exports the core components plus `Surface` and `AuraGlassProvider`; product families live on `aura-glass/app-shell`, `aura-glass/data`, `aura-glass/date`, `aura-glass/ai`, `aura-glass/media`, `aura-glass/icons`, `aura-glass/primitives`, and `aura-glass/theme`. The single layered stylesheet is `aura-glass/styles.css`.

5.0 requires React ^19 and Node >=20.19 and is ESM-only. Design tokens moved to the `--ag-*` namespace, the bundled CLI moved to the separate `aura-glass-cli` package, and deprecated 4.x names remain available from `aura-glass/compat` with a development warning while you migrate.

#Canonical names replace the Glass prefix

The 4.x Glass-prefixed names were renamed to their canonical 5.0 names, and several families moved to the subpath that owns them. The codemod performs these renames, moves subpath imports, updates prop grammar (for example a primary button is now `prominent`), and renames CSS variables.

Surfaces with no 5.0 successor were removed rather than aliased. Compose those jobs from current components, install a registry block with `aura-glass-cli`, or keep the deprecated name temporarily from `aura-glass/compat`.

#The 5.0 first screen

A 5.0 app installs `aura-glass@5.0.2`, imports `aura-glass/styles.css` once, wraps the tree in `AuraGlassProvider`, and composes compound parts such as `Card.Root`, `Card.Title`, and `Card.Body`. Optional peers belong to the subpath that needs them: the date peers for `aura-glass/date`, motion for `aura-glass/motion`, the d3 peers for chart adapters, and the three.js peers for `aura-glass/three`.

#Upgrade from 4.x

Install 5.0.2, preview the codemod, apply it, then run the doctor and your app build. Review the codemod report for removed names with no successor and for any temporary `aura-glass/compat` imports, and re-check custom CSS against the `--ag-*` tokens before visual review.
